Background The SLEEP study examines the effect of an exercise therapy against a control group with TAU therapy (Treatment as usual) in SLE to identify the effect of regular physical activity on muscular development. Our aim was to evaluate nitric oxide metabolites (nitrite and nitrate), expressed as NOx, and erythrocyte deformability, expressed as elongation index, in a group of subjects with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
